Bringing Your Own Sending Domain
Every new account starts sending from a shared address so there's nothing to wait on. Whenever you're ready, you can move to your own domain — entirely through conversation, no admin panel.
How it works
- Tell your assistant the domain you want to send from (e.g.
mail.acmecorp.com). - It connects the domain and hands you back three DKIM records, an SPF record, and a DMARC record to add at your DNS provider.
- Sending is uninterrupted the entire time. You keep sending from your current address until the new domain is confirmed — nothing about an in-progress campaign changes just because a domain upgrade is pending.
- Ask your assistant to check on it. DNS can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 72 hours to propagate, so this may take a follow-up check later. Once it's verified, you're automatically sending from the new domain from that point on.
Adding the DNS records
The record values are always exactly what your assistant gives you — only where you click to add them changes by provider.
| Provider | Where to go | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Namecheap | Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS → Add New Record | Host field wants only the part before the domain (e.g. abc123._domainkey), not the full name — Namecheap appends the domain itself. |
| GoDaddy | Domain Settings → DNS → Records → Add New Record | Same rule — the "Name" field wants just the subdomain part. |
| Cloudflare | DNS → Records → Add record | Set the proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud, not orange) — a proxied record breaks domain verification entirely. This is the single most common reason a Cloudflare-hosted domain gets stuck pending. |
| Google Domains / Squarespace | DNS settings → Custom records → Add record | Same subdomain-only rule for the host/name field. |
| Anything else | — | Host/Name is the part before the domain, Value/Target is exactly what was given, Type is CNAME or TXT as specified, TTL can stay at default. |
Don't have DNS access yourself, or someone else manages it? Ask your assistant to draft a message you can forward as-is, with the records and steps already included.
